Description
This is a colorization of a James Wharton sketch. I tried a new process with Adobe Illustrator for this image. I spent a shorter time on this, although I am disappointed I cannot bring out of this process larger sizes. I've put into my economy set. I will give this a go another time and do the longer process for the Classic collection. Jame's training was that of a steam engineer. I believe before coming to Canada he had worked in mills. I have been trying to figure out the third initial for quite a long time. I am wondering if it is JW5 with 5 being for Jame's school grade when he completed this art. It seems like a process a school might do for submission of work assignments. The mill was an important necessity for Canadian settlers. I cannot imagine a wind deficit had ever been experienced in England. In Manitoba where James settled, there had been wind mills, but few water mills. The year before James arrived, settlers in the area almost starved because while they were able to grow some crops, for a year there was insufficient wind and that meant noone could grind their grain for flour. Noone at the time figured out a solution till Mr. Gregory came along and built his water mill on the Souris River. He made his mark on the survival of pioneers for 5 years during a gap of time when the science of growing crops on the prairies was being perfected.

The Second Book of Samuel 18:12
And the man said unto Joab, Though I should receive a thousand [pieces of] silver in my hand, yet would I not put forth my hand against the kings son for in our hearing the king charged thee and Abishai and Ittai, saying, Beware that none touch the young man Absalom.
The Second Book of Samuel 18:13
Otherwise if I had dealt falsely against his life (and there is no matter hid from the king), then thou thyself wouldest have set thyself against [me].
The Second Book of Samuel 18:14
Then said Joab, I may not tarry thus with thee. And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he was yet alive in the midst of the oak.
