Artist's Description

Elna Niccolls in her written works, notes, and papers, held scraps of family history. Donna Munro is using the pictures and documents to pull together artwork to be shared with the public.

Elna�s family story helps her descendents see a little of their history which led to their own birth and shows the prosperous and difficult times their family traveled through while nurturing family life. Elna includes information on Nesbitt and Brandon, both towns where her family resided including details and descriptions of what she recalls her home and hometown looking like and the translation of those places forward in time.

Elna reminisces about the feeling of home associated to the setting and the feel of the temporal landscape which has been lost today as new technology and times overlay and tarnish the former days she loved. Home is a particular time in the development of our land. Elna brings her times forward for consideration and sharing with her children and grand...

Donna L Munro

Donna L. Munro is the owner of PWL. She is a lover of family heritage and value, having focused her life strengths on studying Literature and Science for her younger life. She has found her roots and family meaning within Scottish and English culture. The start of the collection is focused on releasing family art to print. The first artist Donna has profiled is her great-great-grandfather James Wharton, who was one of the first of the family pioneers to settle in Manitoba just as its communities opened up for settlement. Unfortunately, James Wharton spent most of his time working to get a nicer home for his wife, and did not have time to return to art when he came to the prairies.
