Description
This is Elna's grandmother on the front when she was close to being in her mid-late teens. Around this time, the daughter Margaret worked at the Crowsnest Pub (my hypothesis). This is the 1870s. I think the sister on the right may be Mary. The two girls were the ones who ventured off to the New World together. (There were quite a few girls, so I might have the sister mis-identified. Mary was about 3 years older than Margaret. The man in the middle is George Orme. The woman may be his wife's mother. When the father died, the youngest daughter and her husband moved in with the mom, and they would live together. She would be Jane Bellion. I need to propose a second theory. The couple in the middle could be an aunt and uncle. The fellow looks alot like the people identified as Margaret's parents, but he almost looks like a brother. I am working based on writing on the back of photos. This girls hands in particular, her triangle face (much like mine), and her dress (the same one she wore when she was 60 and 70 in the New World) are her identifying features. It is a breath of fresh air to see her in it young. I still have clothes from when I was a teen. I have given much of it away, but I have kept a few favorites. She must have really loved this dress. As far as fashion goes, see that Mary is wearing a purse. It is quite fashionable and could be used today.
